Atlanta Leather Repair is a company that specialises in leather repair services such as antique restoration, automobile repairs, upholstery repair, and more. They are an established company with a large portfolio of projects and over 10 years of experience in the industry. Atlanta Leather Repair was looking to represent the quality of their work and the professionalism of their service.
The brief
The brand had a previous website that was especially outdated, and overwhelming. It featured a distracting layout, inconsistent design, and a music box that you were unable to pause. Elements such as image backgrounds, numerous fonts, and boxed layouts can make a website look and feel outdated. Website design trends have changed dramatically even over the past couple of years, so it is best practice to revisit the design and refresh the website if needed. The business was looking for a more simplistic and modern website design to level up its digital presence and attract new customers, as well as update its SEO for the latest search engine practices. We focused on the expertise the business offers and representing the brand visually to create the optimal website design for the business and it’s customers. Although they were looking for a modern design, they wanted to keep the branding and the original woodsy feel of the original site.
The design
The business already had a website which we could use branding elements from for this design. We chose to update the photography to amplify the visual appeal of the website and give users an insight into the leather products that the business is able to work on. The homepage works as an introduction to the business, educating the users about the services offered and the history of the business.
Our design encourages users to contact the business with inquiries, and we use CTAs on the homepage and throughout the website to direct them to send an email about their issues.

Why it works
By taking a couple of the brand’s established colours and selecting the right fonts, we could pair down the branding while keeping the same feel of the existing website without overwhelming the user. By separating the information vertically into sections, we made the information a lot easier to digest by the user. Although it can be tempting to fit everything close together to eliminate the need to scroll, this can harm user experience. By eliminating distractions, we can isolate the user’s focus on what they actually need to read at that time and guide them through the site.
